Rules of Play
La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Fundraising Committee Inc.
Ticket sales for the La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Fundraising Chase the Ace will begin on Friday November 8th 2024 with weekly draws every Friday (unless otherwise noted). The first draw will take place on Friday November 15th, 2024, and the last draw will take place on Friday August 29th 2025 (or when the Ace of Spades is drawn, whichever occurs first).
Draws will take place weekly at the La Ronge General Store at 127 Boardman St. La Ronge, SK at 12:15pm SK time.
Ticket sales will cease at 11:00 am each Friday and the next week’s sales will commence at 1pm, if the Ace of Spades was not pulled.
The winner of the draw will be contacted via phone and have 15 minutes to arrive at the La Ronge General Store to choose their card from the card deck. The store will be open to all who purchase tickets and the public. Any person may be present for the draw, as desired. If the winner is not present by 12:30pm, a charity-designated proxy will draw on behalf of the winner. The proxy will pick one of the cards that have been spread out on the table facedown (after being shuffled), after a ticket/name has already been drawn.
Designated proxies to conduct the card draw are Jacqueline Watt and Jacob Page. If the jackpot is over $50,000, the impartial third party to conduct the draw will be RCMP Sergeant Brent Nicol or RCMP Staff Sergeant Dereck Eberle.
Designated proxies may not purchase tickets on a week they are acting as the proxy.
If the Ace of Spades is drawn in the first week up to the first 12 weeks, the winner wins the guaranteed weekly payout and the grand prize, including the 50% of the $5,000 seeded jackpot. In this situation, the Chase the Ace would continue under the same license, with a new $5,000 seeded jackpot and a brand new deck of cards. If the Ace of Spades is drawn on the 13th week of the license or later (regardless of whether it is the first or second jackpot), the winner wins the guaranteed weekly payout and the jackpot, including the $5,000 seed. This ‘re-setting’ of the deck of cards and jackpot may only happen once. If the Ace of Spades is drawn twice within the first 12 weeks of play, the raffle will be over. If the Ace of Spades is drawn for the first or second time after the first 12 weeks, the raffle will be over.
The jackpot will initially be seeded with a $5,000 starting jackpot. 50% from each week’s sales, less the guaranteed payout, will be added to the jackpot. The jackpot will be seeded again with $5,000 if the Chase the Ace game begins again within the same raffle application (see #7).
If the final week is reached without the Ace of Spades being drawn, on the final draw date, winners will be drawn and given an opportunity to win the jackpot until the Ace of Spades is drawn. Each winner will be contacted via phone, and will be given an opportunity to make the draw themselves if they can arrive at the draw location within 15 minutes. If there is no answer or the winner is not able to arrive in person, the draw will be completed by proxy. If the first person drawn on the final date does not pull the Ace of Spades, they will win the weekly guaranteed prize. No other prizes on this final week will be given except the jackpot to the person who draws the Ace of Spades.
Winners will be contacted using the information provided at the time they purchased the ticket. Winners will be paid by cheque to the exact name recorded online. Winnings will be mailed to the winner or delivered to the address provided at the time of purchasing within the area of La Ronge, if possible.
Chase the Ace is open to the public and subject to provincial laws and regulations.
Participants must be 18 to purchase tickets. Ticket sales must take place within Saskatchewan. Persons visiting from out of province may purchase a ticket if they are physically in Saskatchewan when they purchase the ticket.
The following persons are prohibited from purchasing tickets:
The La Ronge and Area Long Term Care Fundraising Committee Staff and Board of Directors.
The La Ronge General Store owners and employees.
Any individual in charge of card/envelope security.
By purchasing a ticket you approve to have your name, number and jackpot prize published.
The winning ticket number will be announced in the following ways: live streamed on the La Ronge General Store’s Facebook page. The winner’s name and ticket number will be posted on the La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Fundraising Committee website (larongeltc.ca) on Facebook Page and, announced on MBC radio.
There are a total of 40,000,000 tickets for sale worth $20,000,000. Whichever option is achieved first (total # of tickets or total sales amount), this will conclude all sales.
Tickets will be sold as follows:
1 for $10,
10 for $20,
50 for $50 and,
200 for $100
Tickets can be purchased 3 ways:
Online: Tickets will be available for purchase online via credit card through a “Purchase Tickets” link located on the Fundraising Committee’s website. Purchasers will be required to enter their name, address and phone number at that time. A weekly subscription service is available online via Tap 50:50, if desired. Funds are deposited directly into the Committee’s lottery bank account.
In person: Tickets may be purchased in person by cash, credit card, or debit card at the La Ronge General Store (Ph: 306-420-7851) during store hours. Tickets purchased in person will be given a printed ticket. Funds are deposited directly into the Committee’s Lottery bank account.
e-transfer: Tickets can be purchased by sending an e-transfer to lachasetheace@gmail.com]. The Password must be “chasetheace”. E-transfer requests must include first and last name (one person only), phone # including area code, email address and ticket pkg desired in the message of the e-transfer. All e-transfers received prior to midnight each Thursday will be entered in that week’s draw, if received after the cut off time, they will be entered in the following week’s draw. Tickets will be emailed to the purchaser. Funds are deposited directly into the Committee’s lottery account.
After ticket sales have ceased, the jackpot will be calculated and payout amounts will be announced at this time.
Weekly winner will receive a guaranteed payout as follows:
$200 if the prize is under $20,000
$400 if the prize is between $20,000-$29,999
$600 if the prize is between $30,000-$39,999
$800 if the prize is between $40,000-$49,999
$1,000 if the prize is $50,000 or greater
The draw will be conducted using a random number generator on the Tap 50:50 platform (a registered ERS) to select one single ticket after ticket sales for the week have ceased as outlined above. If the draw cannot take place for an unforeseen circumstance, the draw will be held as soon as possible, with approval from SLGA.
Any unclaimed prizes will be held in a secure location for the period of one year. If unclaimed in that year, the prize will be donated to a local non-profit organization or charity that is approved by SLGA.
A standard deck of 52 cards (no jokers) will be used for this raffle. The Ace of Spades will be identified and shown to be present in the deck each week, before and after the card draw. Each card that is eliminated will be defaced immediately after the draw and taped to the winners board. The remainder of the deck will be stored in a safe at the La Ronge General Store.
The final week of the license period the first person’s ticket drawn will win the guaranteed designated payout and have the opportunity to draw for the Ace of Spades. Tickets will continue to be pulled that afternoon until the Ace of Spades card is drawn and the participant who draws the Ace of Spades will receive the jackpot. Further participants whose tickets are pulled and draw a number other than the Ace of Spades will not receive a prize.
Weekly draws will be canceled on Friday December 27th and Friday April 18th.
The total prize value for all prizes cannot exceed 50% of the maximum ticket value plus 50% of the $5,000 seeded jackpot, totalling $20,000,000.00.
In the event of a disagreement in the draw, precedence will be given to the original receipt issued. Please email fundraising.ltc@gmail.com. No refunds will be issued.
Proceeds from this raffle will be used toward the purchase of medical equipment for the new Long Term Care home being built in La Ronge.

DETERMINATION OF OFFICIAL WINNER(S): The La Ronge and Area Long Term Care Fundraising Committee (the Committee) shall have the sole discretion to determine whether each Potential Winner is an official winner of a Prize (an “Official Winner”). The Committee’s decision concerning the identity of all Official Winners shall be final and binding. To become an Official Winner: (1) a Potential Winner must be eligible to participate in the Raffle under these Official Rules and must not be in violation of these Official Rules as determined in the Committee’s sole judgment; (2) that Potential Winner must contact the Committee by the deadline specified above.
AWARD OF PRIZE(S) TO OFFICIAL WINNER(S): A Prize will be awarded to each Potential Winner who has been designated by the Committee as an Official Winner. All prizes will be sent to the Winner via Cheque within 30 calendar days of winning. For security and safety reasons, no cash payments will be made to winners. Winners have 365 days from the draw date to claim their prize. After 365 days, any potential winning ticket becomes void, and the jackpot will be donated to a registered charity, according to SLGA guidelines. The potential winner can contact the Committee’s office as to the procedure to claim the prize. The winning number and prize will be available on the web at larongeltc.ca. GENERAL CONDITIONS: The Released Parties (defined below under “RELEASE OF LIABILITY”) are not responsible for: (1) Entries which are stolen, lost, damaged, illegible, given away or no longer in the purchaser’s possession, (2) Entries that have been or may have been tampered with or re-sold in violation of these Official Rules; (3) Entries or payments that are delayed, misdirected, undelivered, not fully captured, or garbled as a result of any failure or problem whatsoever with the availability, functionality, operability or use of any network, server, ISP, website, computer, telephone, cable or satellite modem or connection, hand held mobile device or any other computer equipment or connection, whether or not caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by viruses, worms, or malfunctions affecting a network, server ISP or any equipment or programming used in or associated with the Raffle; (4) any other errors of any kind, whether human, typographical, printing, mechanical, or electronic in nature, which relate to or are connected with the Raffle (collectively, as described in clauses (1) through (4), “Errors”), including without limitation Errors in Raffle-related materials or in the administration of the Raffle, such as Errors in processing Entries, identifying Potential Winners, determining Official Winners, or announcing or delivering Prizes; or If any portion of the Raffle is compromised, in the Committee’s sole judgment, by a virus, worm, bug, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the Committee’s sole judgment, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Raffle, or the proper submission or capture of Entries (collectively, a “Compromising Event”), then the Committee reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend, modify or terminate the Raffle, and to select winners from all eligible, non-suspect Entries received before the known occurrence or discovery of such Comprising Event. All Entry purchases shall be final, and no refunds or replacements will be issued by the Committee. The Committee has sole and final decision on admissibility of entries and the determination of prize winner.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: Entrants, by participating in the Raffle, agree that The Committee, and Tap 50:50, each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, partners, and advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, shareholders, members, consultants and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by entrants against, any liability for injuries, losses, cost, expenses or damages of any kind, including damages for death, personal injury, property damage.
